RIMINI

When I left Florance, the route would be Rimini and then San Marino. In general, my friends who went on a trip to Italy are bypassing San Marino for one reason, one of the places I was most curious about was this small country. In this country where 33 thousand people live, annual income per capita is around 60 thousand $. To reach San Marino, you must pass Rimini, you have no other transportation alternative.

I was biased when I first arrived in Rimini because Florence had raised the standart a lot. What happened next? I cought up with bus moving to San Marino.

First of all, Rimini is a coastal city but extremely “cool” and calm. Life is slowly flowing here. Rimini is not a tourist attraction in Italy, like Siena, Rome and Florence, but you can get an idea of how everyday life can be.

What piad my attention here was the low population of young people in this region. I met a lot of people over 50 years old. While some were sitting and drinking coffee and reading a book, some were telling something exciting in a dark conversation. You should not skip the people walking around the parks. I found myself while I dived between the narrow and historical streets. On the streets I visited, people made croissants that converted a certain part of their homes into production areas. Since the houses are not multi-storey and the windows are open, you can easily see them.

Among other places to be visited can be listed  as the city museum, Malatestiano Temple and Arch of Agustus. Just across the train station, as the rush of catching San Marino buses started, I realized that it was time to say goodbye to Rimini.

SAN MARINO

When I left myself inside the bus, I felt like I was walking for 5 hours and I was really tired. Meanwhile, while the vehicle was moving, there was a serious war between watching the beautiful view and sleeping, but there was no winner because I was able to sleep a little and watch the road with this fatigue. As I was moving towards the control sign, I was waiting for my passport to be prepared, but the border was already crossed without any control.

When I got off the bus and looked around, I didn’t know where to start the tour. When you reach San Marino, it takes 25 minutes if you walk from the last stop to the highest hill without stopping.

The historical texture is so well preserved that you find it difficult to explain words that will express your experience in nature. San Marino is one of the oldest micro-states in the world. The country was founded in 301 with the aim of creating a place where a stonemason named Marinus left his place with his supporters to live freely upon the torture of Christians by the Roman emperor of that period.

When you climb to the highest point of San Marino, you will say hello to the Adriatic sea, accompanied by incredible greenery. Even this view can be enjoyed for days. You find yourself with many thoughts. Pizza and wine, completely, fit with this beautiful scene. The 3 towers that give the symbol to the San Marino flag should definitely be seen.

Another attraction after the towers is the Vampire Museum. Although the museum is very small, it is quite interesting. When you walk through the streets, you can feel that the medieval atmosphere of the buildings and the gothic style of the museum match well.

I suggest you to go inside and discover new places as much as you have time. There’s definitely a reward for going out of the plan. The people here are friendly and friendly. Get yourself accustomed to say “Ciao” to the people you eye. It makes a great impression that everyone says hello to each other. Compare it by myself with Istanbul and Turkey. I can tell I really felt very bad. People here in lifestyle and outlook towards life, compared with Turkey, seems to be of top quality.

Let’s focus on the trip again… When it started to be evening, I made my way to the hostel. When I found out that the buses passed from the first point I started the trip, I started to wait. When the bus came, I was surprised when the driver said that he did not need money. Because while the bus driver, although everyone who have boarding ticket gets on the bus, he did not ask me anything, I later realized that I had to buy a ticket, but he politely denied my desire to give the money.

When I got off the bus, there was a supermarket in front of the hostel and I dived right in. I went to the hostel with something to eat and wine and a glass. Strangely, I was not very happy with the hostel where I stayed. Is it because there are not many alternatives in the environment, this hostel didn’t come sympathetic to me.

After drinking the evening wine and reading book, my plan was ready for tomorrow. I would first go to Rimini, then to Bologna and finally to Siena by train.

After getting up in the morning, waiting at the stop right next to the hostel (I got off the bus last night) and watching the sunrise was a unique experience.

Here comes the surprise, the bus is not around. After waiting for 40 minutes for the next bus going to Rimini which it would have been in 20 minutes (the bus was already gone), I started walking as soon as I decided that the best route was the main stop, but what a walk, never ending-distance … Thanks to this, i had an opportunity to visit many secretways. After about an hour walk, I reached the bus stop. It’s time to leave San Marino. Road to Siena
