Always a word nowadays … Balanced nutrition … What is this word actually? I’m sure many of us have something to say. Well, if I go further and say that there are variations in our emotions according to our diet …
We cannot know by using sensory organs which types of foods have effects reason emotional changes. Our nutritional habits start from the time we were born and formed with the help of environmental effects in later ages. After the feeding period with breast milk is over, environmental effects are felt more. Afterwards, the vicious circle begins.
When it comes to environmental effects, we shouldn’t only think of meteorological factors. Many issues should be considered in socio-economic and cultural environment, environmental pollution, wars, famine, etc.
Balanced diet can described in the simplest way as “getting the nutrients our body needs as much as necessary”. Although we have simplified its definition, I would like to remind you that only universities in this subject have undergraduate programs 🙂
Of course, this article will not provide such details. If we talk about a few basic points, we will create awareness:
Brain: It weighs about 1.5 kg means %2 of total body mass and exploits the energy in our body at the same time, this organ alone consumes almost 30% of the nutrients in the blood. Therefore, your eating habits dont only affect the biochemistry of this organ, but also affect our emotional.
Sugar: Sugar is a nutrient that our body needs and which we can briefly name as fuel. The production of sugar started in India in the 6th century and started to be produced all over the world with the spread of production from sugar cane and beet in the 18th century and its consumption has increased at same scale.
The health problems, that emerged with increasing consumption and industrialization, revealed that sugar is not an innocent nutrient. According to the German scientist Otto Warburg’s study that got the Nobel Prize in 1931; the structure of cancerous cells is different from that of healthy cells; unhealthy cells use 3-5 times more sugar than healty ones. In other words, it is an indispensable energy source in cancerous cells.
On the other hand, you will see how to decrease sugar amount coming from proceseed foods resuting from eating more fruits in practical life.
You can also watch the effects of sugar after entering the body in this link below. This video actually highlights sugar addiction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lexbxijqreo
In a study conducted on 231 people in a prison in the UK, it was found that the use of capsules containing vitamins, minerals and important fatty acids reduced the fight rate by 37% in prison, and it is an important study that shows that people’s behaviors may change depending on the type of food consumption.
It has been determined by studies conducted that depression, which is likely to occur frequently in many people today, is caused by the deterioration of the biochemistry of the brain rather than a mental event. So what is the link with food of this situaiton? Let me try to explain without going into too much detail:
Amino-acid effect: As it is known, our body secretes chemicals that we call neurotransmitters in order to ensure our neural transmission perfectly. It has been determined that depression can be triggered by insufficient neuroepinephrine, one of these chemicals. So what is needed for secretion of this substance? Answer: Tyrosine. This amino acid is often found in cheeses.
It is now known that using contraceptive reduces neuroepinephrine, and as a result, negative emotional changes occur in individuals.
Especially during stressful times and under pressure, mood changes occur with the hormones secreted by our brain. In short; due to human being is a physical, chemical and biological entity, any change in this direction affects our feelings.
As scattered the subject a little … to gather it: what makes us happy or increases our motivation is that biochemical events in our body and the hormones released as a result of these events,. Namely: the most known of these as the hormone of happiness is seratonin.
Seratonin: Known as the happiness hormone. So if we have seratonin in the body, we feel pleasant, comfortable and happy. It has a structure that is directly affected by our diet. For its secretion, an amino acid called tryptophan, which cannot be synthesized in the body, is required. In short, if we want to secrete this hormone, we will need to give it in the raw material. I feel like I hear the questions.
Which foods have tryptophan?
– Answer: Soybeans, cow’s milk, unpeeled rice, peas, walnuts, corn and many other nutrients can be taken into the body. The amount in foods varies from food to food. The nutrients containing the most tryptophan amino acids in their structure are the soybeans.
When we add sports to him by paying attention to our food sources and take out other bad habits like cigarettes, this is not eaten at that time. (Did I want too much? ….)
There is so much to tell … Let’s leave it here for now. 🙂 Neither pages nor your time to read all these processes … We do not give nutritional counseling after all, I just tried to explain that this event is more important than you think.
Even when we buy fuel or oil in a car, we try to choose the best quality we can, so that it will not cause us trouble in the future. Let’s bother this logic for ourselves as well
Note: Never make sense of the above mentioned that we can only be happy by paying attention to our food. But think of it as an important link in the chain.
